Non-Profit Ventures Offers Education, Planning, and Management of Sustainable Projects for Non-Profits.
Inherent in all our work is the development of specific practices that address energy use and conservation, on site recycling and composting, indoor air quality, water use and conservation, and a philosophy regarding materials and equipment purchases, facility renovation, and construction. To date, nonprofit corporations and government have provided virtually all of the early research, design, demonstration projects, economic modeling, and new generation construction projects that have launched the nation’s growing consciousness of sustainability and carbon neutrality.
Integrated into Non-Profit Ventures’ practice is a commitment to provide the desire, knowledge, and ability to become sustainable corporate citizens and to educate constituencies about the health and economic benefits of sustainable living. We do this through the examination of operating practices, development of sustainability plans, and training clients to proactively influence constituents to practice sustainable working, teaching, driving, and living.
Recently, Non-Profit Ventures managed a campus project that collaborated with Habitat for Humanity and the Reuse People of California to reuse and recycle building components, building materials, concrete sidewalks and asphalt streets from an abandoned Navy housing subdivision. Ninety-five percent of the building materials were diverted from the landfill and reused.
In collaboration with other LEED design and engineering professionals, Non-Profit Ventures is currently managing the planning and design of one of the first sustainable independent school campuses in California. In addition, a new client is integrating its curriculum with its major campus renovation and construction project that will span a decade -- and potentially alter the education of 5,000 students.
We will be pleased to discuss your organization’s ideas, from fully integrating curricula to developing sustainable marketing programs to building environmentally-friendly buildings.
